Counselor view: Strong match. Mongolian school-leaving certificate accepted, IELTS 6.0, up to six programme choices and automatic scholarships. General guidance only, not an admission prediction.
Lingnan University is a public liberal arts university in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong, known for small classes, a residential campus and a broad liberal arts education. It offers English-taught degrees in the arts, business, social sciences and data science, including economics, psychology, government and international affairs, marketing, accounting, film, data science and design with artificial intelligence. Mongolia is on Lingnan's list of recognised qualifications, so the school-leaving certificate with IELTS 6.0 is enough to apply. Non-local students are automatically considered for scholarships of up to full tuition plus hostel. Lingnan ranks =581 in the QS World University Rankings 2027.
Advice from our counselors
Lingnan is a friendly, realistic Hong Kong option for Mongolian students who like small classes: its list of recognised qualifications includes the Mongolian school-leaving certificate, IELTS 6.0 is enough, and one application can include up to six programmes for HK$200 each. Tuition is high (HK$205,000 a year), so the automatic Non-local Student Scholarships matter; they are decided with the offer and limited, so apply in the Early Round (30 November 2026) or Main Round (28 February 2027). Upload awards and activities, and ask a teacher early for the reference letter. Some programmes interview by video. Popular choices include economics, psychology, data science and business. Check hostel costs when they are published.
