Advice from our counselors
HKBU is one of the most accessible Hong Kong universities for Mongolian students: its international qualifications list includes Mongolia, so the national school-leaving certificate plus IELTS 6.0 (or TOEFL 79) is enough to apply, and no SAT is required. The cost is high, about HK$290,000–320,000 a year including living costs, but every non-local applicant is considered automatically for full, tuition-waiver and half scholarships, and Mongolian students can be nominated for the Belt and Road Scholarship. Scholarships are decided with the offer, so apply in the Early Round (by 16 November 2026) or Main Round (by 1 February 2027), not the Extended Round. Choose the two programme choices carefully, and a strong SAT (1360+) can help with scholarships.
